Why Verify Your Phone?

Phone verification adds an extra layer of trust to your profile. It shows other pilots that you've confirmed your identity with a real phone number. This is especially important when buying or selling gear — verified users' vouches carry more weight, and other pilots can confirm you have a verified number without seeing the actual number.

How to Verify

Phone verification is a quick process that takes under 2 minutes:

  1. 1

Go to your Profile and find the Trust Badges section.

  2. 2

Tap "Verify" on the Phone Verified badge.

  3. 3

Re-authenticate by entering your password. This security step confirms it's really you.

  4. 4

Enter your phone number (South African numbers supported).

  5. 5

Enter the OTP code sent to your phone via SMS.

  6. 6

Your phone is now linked and verified.

Tip: Phone verification takes under 2 minutes and significantly boosts your trust profile. It's one of the most impactful things you can do for your credibility.

What Others See

Other pilots see a "Phone Verified" badge on your profile and Trust Hub. They do NOT see your actual phone number. Your privacy is protected — the badge simply confirms that you have a verified number on file.

Number Check Tool

When you're considering buying from another pilot, you can use the "Verify this seller's number" button on their profile. Here's how it works:

  • The tool checks if the seller has a verified phone number — it does NOT reveal the actual number.
  • This gives you confidence that the person has a real, verified identity behind their account.
  • Rate-limited to 5 checks per buyer-seller pair per day to prevent abuse.
5

Re-verification

Phone verification expires after 90 days. When it's time to re-verify, you'll see a prompt on your profile. The re-verification process is the same as the initial verification — quick and straightforward.

6

The Trust Hub

Every pilot has a Trust Hub accessible by tapping the shield icon on their profile. It provides a complete picture of a pilot's community standing:

  • Overall trust rating — Aggregate score from all vouches received.
  • Email verification — Confirmed email address status.
  • Phone verification — Verified phone number status.
  • ID verification — Coming soon for enhanced trust.
  • Vouch history — Tabbed view of vouches as seller and as buyer.
