How Vouching Works

What is Vouching?

Vouching is SkySpot SA's community trust system. When you buy from or sell to another pilot, you can vouch for them to build their reputation. Think of it as a verified review that stays permanently on their Trust Hub.

The vouching system helps create a trustworthy marketplace within the RC and FPV community. Before buying gear from another pilot, you can check their Trust Hub to see their vouch history, ratings, and verification status.

Two Roles

Each vouch has a direction based on your role in the transaction. This is important to understand:

"I bought from them"

You were the buyer. This credits the other person as a seller. The vouch appears on their profile under "Vouches as Seller."

"I sold to them"

You were the seller. This credits the other person as a buyer. The vouch appears on their profile under "Vouches as Buyer."

Key point: The person you're vouching for gets the credit, not you. You're confirming their trustworthiness in the role they played.

The Vouch Flow

Vouching for another pilot is a straightforward process:

  1. 1

Visit the pilot's profile — Find them through the Community tab, a check-in, or a comment.

  2. 2

Tap "Vouch" — This opens the full-screen vouch flow.

  3. 3

Choose your role — Select whether you bought from or sold to this person.

  4. 4

Rate them 1-5 stars — Give an honest rating of the transaction experience.

  5. 5

Confirm and submit — Review your vouch and submit it.

Eligibility Requirements

To vouch for another pilot, your account must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Account at least 7 days old
  • At least 100 XP earned
  • Email verified
  • Account not banned
  • Maximum 3 vouches per month
  • 14-day cooldown between vouching the same person in different roles
5

Trust Badges

Accumulating vouches unlocks trust badges that appear on your profile:

Trusted Seller

Earned at 10 vouches received as a seller

Trusted Buyer

Earned at 10 vouches received as a buyer

6

The Trust Hub

Every pilot has a Trust Hub, accessible by tapping the shield icon on their profile. The Trust Hub is a comprehensive overview of a pilot's credibility:

  • Trust shield with rating — An overall trust score based on vouch history.
  • Phone verification status — Whether the pilot has verified their phone number.
  • Vouches as Seller (tab) — All vouches received from buyers, with star ratings.
  • Vouches as Buyer (tab) — All vouches received from sellers, with star ratings.
7

Phone Verification Boost

Vouches carry more weight when both parties have verified phone numbers. The system records whether each party had a verified phone at the time of the vouch. This means verified users' vouches contribute more to the overall trust score than unverified users' vouches.

Anti-Abuse Protections

SkySpot SA has several safeguards to prevent gaming the vouch system:

  • Mutual vouch detection — If two users vouch each other within 30 days, the vouch is flagged for moderator review.
  • Rate limits — Maximum 3 vouches per month prevents spam vouching.
  • Cross-role cooldown — 14-day wait between vouching the same person in a different role prevents gaming.

Tip: Vouching earns the recipient 5 XP per vouch received. It's a great way to help fellow pilots build their reputation!

Warning: Vouches are permanent and cannot be edited or deleted. Make sure your rating is fair and reflects the actual transaction experience.
