Setting Up Your Profile

3 min read

1

Navigate to Your Profile

Tap the Community tab in the bottom navigation bar, then tap your avatar or username at the top of the screen. This opens your profile page where you can view and edit your details.

2

Add Your Details

Tap the edit button to update your profile information. You can set the following:

  • Display Name — The name other pilots see across the app.
  • Bio — A short description about yourself and your flying interests.
  • Pilot Type — Choose from FPV, photographer, surveyor, racer, or other to let people know what kind of flying you do.
  • Province — Your home province in South Africa.
  • Status Text — A short status message visible on your profile.
3

Upload an Avatar

Tap the avatar circle on your profile to upload a photo. Choose an image from your device — it must be an image file (JPG, PNG, etc.) and under 5 MB in size. Your avatar appears on your profile, check-ins, comments, and the leaderboard.

4

Add Social Links

Connect your social media accounts so fellow pilots can find and follow you. SkySpot SA supports links to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook. These links appear on your public profile.

5

Earn Profile Completion XP

Filling in your profile details earns a one-time award of 20 XP. This is one of the easiest ways to start levelling up and contributes to your lifetime XP total.

Tip: Your username must be unique. Once set, it's used across the platform for check-ins, vouches, and leaderboards.
